CAD-free shape localization and automatic robot path generation

Thanks to this solution, automated, repeatable and accurate leak detection is now possible. The possibilities of Industry 4.0 are taken even further.

By combining Inficon’s expertise in sensor technology with Visionerf’s 3D vision skills, we have developed a state-of-the-art solution that uses two custom-designed Cirrus3D scanners to generate a 3D point cloud of the refrigeration system. Our patented algorithm is then used to find welded joints and calculate an optimized trajectory for the robot. The robot, equipped with a patented sniffer (EOA), collision-free tests the tightness of each welded joint. This integration guarantees precise, repeatable measurement of leaks thanks to the Ecotech E3000, as small as 0.05 grams per year. This powerful alliance between Inficon and Visionerf raises the bar for autonomous leak detection.

Process

in 5 steps

1. Product scan (refrigerator, heat pump, air conditioning system…)
2. Product localization by comparing the product scan with a model created from the reference scan.
3. Positioning of search boxes in relation to product position.
4. Location of soldered joints in search boxes.
5. AI generation of the robot trajectory passing through each weld to be tested.
